experience on the water and his enthusiasm for
nature is quite contagious. When not on the bay,

his beloved black labs, Blue and Bella.
Captain Dave Harbaugh is one of Journeys tour guides. He and
his lovely wife, Beth Appleton, have been part of the Journeys
family since the beginning almost 17 years ago. Dave has led
thousands of trips to Little St. George, St. Vincent Island and up
the Apalachicola River. As a result Dave is one of our most
knowledgeable guides, feel free to ask him about any shell or the
history of the area. Dave is also happy to take the time to teach
your children a little bay fishing with a Fish and Fun add on to any
tour. But he can just as easily entertain you and your special
someone on a romantic sunset tour, complete with oysters on
the half shell shucked fresh from the bay.
Captain George Ward is a Journeys Bay Fishing guide. George is a
homegrown fisherman with decades and decades of seafood
experience running in his family tree. Son of well-known local seafood
distributor Buddy Ward, George still spends time helping with the
family business when not running trips for Journeys.

George has countless hours on the bay; fishing, harvesting oysters,
catching shrimp and cast-netting mullet. For a true Apalachicola
fishing experience, George is your captain!  For a unique Forgotten
Coast journey, George is also available for duck hunting trips during
the appropriate fall and winter hunting season.

Captain Doug is one of Journeys newest captains and also one of our most lovable.
Captain Doug Joyner was born in Macon, GA but has lived on the Forgotten Coast
for over 25 years and has always been on the water. He has been a commercial
fisherman in Alabama for Grouper and Shrimp. He has also been an Oysterman here
in our pristine Apalachicola Bay. A little over 5 years ago, Captain Doug decided to
get his Captain's License to do guided trips and he found his calling. Everyone that
goes out with Doug comes back with a new knowledge of the area and a new
friend. Captain Doug specializes in the Bounty of the Bay Tour and will also do bay
fishing and sightseeing tours.
Captain Jeremy is our youngest Captain and is excited to take
families out on the bay to find dolphins and explore the other
barrier islands in the Apalachicola Bay. He is also a wonderful
bay fisherman that has great patience with the younger
anglers. Captain Jeremy has been with Journeys of SGI for 3
years and started as one of our skilled kayak guides. Two
years ago he worked hard and got his Captains License. He
still does special appearance kayak trips but you will mostly
catch him in the bay with a fishing pole in his hand.
Elisabeth (aka Lissy) is our #1 Kayak Guide. She is an American
Canoe Association Certified kayak instructor and very knowledgable
about the area. Her wonderful attitude and patience makes kayaking
so much more enjoyable...no stress, no pressure...just fun and
laughter with some education tossed in there. Enjoy an adventure of
a lifetime and come kayaking with our Lissy!
